CMCRC ANNUAL HEALTH CONFERENCE A SUCCESS

Thank you to all who attended the “Emerging Trends in Digital Health” conference at the International Convention Centre Darling Harbour and combined cocktail party with Sonic Clinical Services at the Sofitel Sydney on 17-18 May.
The full day conference located at the spectacular new convention Centre on the harbour was a great success thanks to the insightful, passionate and impactful presentations from our various partners and researchers on emerging trends in the digital health space. The discussion of the importance of health data security proved a common thread throughout the presentations albeit from different perspectives. This issue was coupled with an acceptance of the issues and opportunities presented by the sheer volume of health data and how to harness this to provide personalised, precision healthcare services. HMQ Leader David Jonas used the occasion to reveal the exciting announcement of a new Digital Health CRC bid, which is currently well underway. CMCRC and Research Australia also teamed up to launch Volume 2 of the very successful Flying Blind research series at the conference. Nadia Levin, CEO of Research Australia unveiled the live website to the audience and called for comments and suggestions for the blog, which focuses on the “Researchers and the Health Data Maze”.  It can be found at https://flyingblind.cmcrc.com/researchers-health-data Special thanks to our distinguished line-up of guest speakers, Elizabeth Koff, NSW Secretary of Health, Tim Kelsey, CEO of the Australian Digital Health Agency, Nadia Levin, CEO Research Australia and our overseas guests Donna Price, Senior Vice President of Government Services (HMS) & Bill Lucia Chairman and CEO of HMS and via Skype, Dr John Quackenbush from Harvard. Our eminent partners, industry professionals, academics and emerging data scientists discussed their experience and research that hopefully provides positive impact to the future of health data research. The CMCRC received great feedback from attendees as to the topicality and relevance of the presentations. Watch this space to hear more about these exciting new developments.
