The CMCRC’s Health Market Quality R&D team last night was awarded the Research Australia’s Award for Data Innovation in Health & Medical Research.
CMCRC’s Head of the Health R&D Program, David Jonas, thanked Research Australia, CMCRC CEO Professor Michael Aitken AM and the Board, industry and research partners and acknowledged that “…far too much (data) is locked up in labyrinthine silos of our own making. Tonight I want to make a plea to the Ministers, Senior Government Officials and Health Industry leaders to work with us to, for once and for all, sort out this seemingly intractable challenge. Success in this will enable personalised precision healthcare, vastly improved health system planning & management and turbo-charged research.”
Nadia Levin, CEO of Research Australia said last nights’ Health and Medical Research Awards prove that Australia’s research sector is a force to be reckoned with. “The best health and medical research requires innovation, drive, creativity and ingenuity, and the 2016 Research Australia Award Winners exemplify all of those characteristics,” she said.
The award ceremony was held at the Westin Hotel in Sydney.
