Mr Pulok presented part of his PhD findings at the 12th iHEA Congress in Boston, USA and the Emerging Health Policy Conference at the University of Sydney both held this July.
His first presentation was at the International Health Economics Association (iHEA) which aims to foster a higher standard of debate in the application of economics to health and health care systems and assist young researchers at the start of their careers.
Mr Pulok’s presentation at the University of Sydney was concerned with inequity in use of needed healthcare services varying across states, despite the universal health insurance system in Australia. His findings reveal increasing reliance on private funding and fragmented provision of healthcare services, which he suggests might make the Australian system challenging to deliver equitable healthcare.
