WINNER OF CMCRC COMMERCIALIZATION PRIZE ANNOUNCED

Ms. Shabani Varaki is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering with the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour & Development (WSU) and is completing her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Gaetano Gargiulo.
She presented a poster describing her work on low-cost non-invasive assessment of peripheral vascular function (http://www.heartlungcirc.org/ article/S1443-9506(16)30319-5/ abstract).
Ms. Shabani Varaki won her prize by arguing that the wearable device that she has been developing has the potential of being commercialized into an inexpensive product for the convenient assessment of peripheral venous and arterial function.
